Tbilisi Airport to Dashbashi Canyon is about 107 km and takes around 2 hours. The road heads south-west out of the city, past Marneuli and up towards Tsalka, gaining height steadily as the lowland plain gives way to the edge of the Javakheti plateau. Dashbashi is a green gorge cut into the plateau near the town of Tsalka, with waterfalls along its floor and a viewing platform built out over the drop. It is a half-day trip from Tbilisi rather than an overnight destination, and the drive is most of the experience — the transition from city to high open country happens in under two hours.
Go in the morning: the canyon faces so that the light is better early, and the plateau clouds over in the afternoon more often than not. Wear proper shoes — the descent into the gorge is a real path, not a promenade, and it is slippery after rain. It is noticeably cooler and windier up here than in Tbilisi, so bring a layer. Facilities are limited compared to the more visited sites, so eat before you go or plan a stop in Tsalka. Winter access depends on the road over the plateau; ask your driver the day before.

Third-party options are listed for orientation only — OrbiTrip books private transfers. A per-car transfer is usually the cheapest door-to-door option for 2+ people with luggage; for a solo traveller on a budget the train or marshrutka may cost less.
Your driver tracks the flight and waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign; waiting is free if the flight is delayed. After booking you receive the driver's phone number — call or message on WhatsApp if you cannot find each other. Pay the driver in cash. Payment is cash only, to the driver; no prepayment.
