Kutaisi Airport to Anaklia is about 94 km and takes roughly 1 hour 30 minutes. The road runs north-west across the Colchis plain through Samtredia and Senaki, flat and fast, until it reaches the coast at the mouth of the Enguri river. Anaklia is a wide, open Black Sea beach with far more space than the resorts further south, and it sits right at the administrative boundary line with Abkhazia — which is why the settlement feels newer and emptier than its shoreline suggests. Most travellers come for the beach and the quiet rather than for a town.
Facilities are limited compared with Batumi or Ureki — bring what you need rather than expecting to buy it on arrival, especially outside July and August. The beach is sand and shingle and the water shelves gently, which makes it easier with children than the steeper pebble beaches further south. This is a border area: carry your passport and do not attempt to cross the administrative boundary line, which is not an open crossing. Zugdidi is about 40 minutes inland if you want a base with more services, and it is also the road to Svaneti.

After booking you receive the driver's phone number — call or message on WhatsApp if you cannot find each other. Pay the driver in cash. Payment is cash only, to the driver; no prepayment.
