Baku to Tbilisi by road: not possible in 2026
As of September 2026, Azerbaijan's land border is closed to passengers in both directions. It has been closed since March 2020, and the latest extension runs to 1 October 2026. No taxi or private transfer can drive you from Baku to Tbilisi, so OrbiTrip does not sell this route.
What works instead
- Train. The Baku–Tbilisi passenger train resumed on 26 May 2026. It is the only land crossing open to travellers. Check the current timetable and who may use it with the railway.
- Flight. Baku and Tbilisi are linked by direct flights. From Tbilisi Airport a driver can take you anywhere in Georgia.
